Spring 2025 Upcoming Projects for the TSR Community Development District (Starkey Ranch CDD)

The Board of Supervisors of The Starkey Ranch CDD shared an update on some of the many Spring projects going throughout the Starkey Ranch Community during March, April and May. Please see the list below.

  • Landscaping Enhancements to Homestead, Whitfield Park, and Albritton Park, which includes plant replacement and improvement of sightlines around walking paths.

  • Landscaping modification and sightline improvement of planting beds in medians at Gunn Highway / Long Spur and Gunn Highway / Rangeland Blvd.

  • Erosion repairs at Mitigation Pond M10C, off Barbour Trail, required due to damage from the overflow of the Anclote River during Hurricane Milton (2024).

  • Erosion repairs at the Dog park at Cunningham Park, required due to damage from wave action of Cannon Lake during Hurricane Milton (2024).

  • The annual pine straw refresh throughout the amenities, pocket parks, and common areas.

  • Pressure washing of the District’s sidewalks, scheduled to begin in late March/early April.

  • Landscaping enhancement and modification of Stansil Park sections 1 & 2, expected to begin with cutbacks and plant removal in late March and replanting in April.

  • Street and wayfinding signage repair and replacement – April/Early May.

  • Walkway and drain repairs, including the asphalt trail in Cunningham Park – April/Early May.

Breaking News: Rangeland Blvd Expansion – Public Workshop Scheduled

Pasco County’s Transportation Engineering Department wants to hear from you!  We’re hosting a public workshop, Thursday, January 30, 2025, to explore new ways to enhance travel on Rangeland Boulevard and connect communities east and west of the Suncoast Parkway (SR 589).  This project will also reduce traffic congestion and enhance safety on State Road 54.   

The project will run about 3.4 miles from the intersection of Rangeland Boulevard and Cattle Gap Trail to Bexley Village Drive.

WHAT:      Rangeland Blvd Project Public Workshop

WHEN:      Thursday, January 30, 2025 5 – 7 p.m.

WHERE:   Starkey Ranch Theatre Library Cultural Center 12118 Lake Blanche Drive Odessa, FL

This is an open-house style meeting.  While there won’t be a formal presentation, county staff and design engineering consultants will be at the workshop to answer your questions, address your concerns and collect feedback.

Project Details:

  • A new four- or six-lane roadway
  • Bicycle lanes, a sidewalk and a shared-use path
  • An overpass bridge crossing the existing Suncoast Parkway (SR 589)

News: TSR – CDD Board of Supervisors Vacancy

The Board is currently seeking potential candidates interested in fill the unexpired term of TSR CDD Board of Supervisors Seat 1 (Term Expires: November 2026).

Those interested in serving must be able to meet the membership requirements, obligations, and responsibilities of the Board, and comply with the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics for public officers and employees.  

Interested parties should contact Barry Mazzoni at [email protected] and provide a brief resume by no later than Thursday, January 30, 2025. Candidates will also be expected to attend the Board of Supervisors meeting on February 12, 2025 at 6:00 PM to allow the Board time to interview each candidate and ask questions before selecting an individual to fulfill the unexpired term. 

The meeting will be located at the Welcome Center, 2500 Heart Pine Avenue, Odessa, Florida 33556.

After years of serving delicious food and creating lasting memories in the heart of Trinity, Christo’s Family Restaurant is transitioning to new ownership. The beloved local eatery, a staple in the community, has been sold to Dan Zweifel and his family, longtime residents of the nearby Starkey Ranch Community.

The Christo family, known for their warm hospitality and commitment to quality, shared the news with the community in an open letter. Here is their heartfelt message:

Dear Trinity Community,

As we celebrate 23 remarkable years of Christo’s Family Restaurant serving this amazing community, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your steadfast support, trust, and loyalty. Each interaction, shared story, and smile has made this journey truly unforgettable and profoundly fulfilling.
 
After thoughtful reflection, we’ve come to the decision that it’s time to turn the page to a new chapter.
